Our History
W “Dub” Melton served in the military as a jet mechanic. His son’s say “he could fix anything from a toaster to a furnace to a jet.” Dub started in the heating and cooling industry in 1966 doing sales and service. After 17 years he asked Randy to join him in a business venture now known as Melton’s Heating and Cooling.
A Family Business…
Brothers Jim and Greg were taken in as partners and Greg would join as the business manager in 1990, leaving Randy to manage sales. Melton’s currently employs 12 people in their local, family owned business. Most of their business, Randy will tell you, comes from “word of mouth” and that’s the way he likes it. Since Randy joined, the company has concentrated on sales of TRANE products, while maintaining the ability to service any brand. They have strong ties with the gas, power and electric companies for energy conservation, local Chamber of Commerce, and keep up with the industry through the Homebuilder’s Association as well as TRANE sponsored educational opportunities.
